The Long Beach Greek Festival once again welcomed the community to experience three days of authentic Hellenic food, music and culture during Labor Day weekend.
Hundreds gathered at the Assumption of the Blessed Virgin Mary Greek Orthodox Church for this year’s festival, which ran from Saturday to Monday, Sept. 5-7.

What started as a small Greek community gathering in 1949 has grown into one of Long Beach’s most beloved annual traditions, according to the event’s website. This year marks the festival’s 77th iteration, offering food and entertainment for the entire family.
People enjoyed classic Greek dishes prepared with traditional recipes. At the Taverna Booth, for example, there was octopus, chicken and pork souvlaki, lamb chops, and more. There was also plenty of wine and delicious homemade Greek desserts and pastries.
The live music brought an exciting energy and got people out of their seats to dance. Kids also had plenty of activities and entertainment to enjoy during Long Beach’s warm end-of-summer evenings.
