Matteo Lane is bringing his latest international stand-up tour, “We Gotta Catch Up,” to Athens’ Arch Club for two shows on September 29 and 30.
The Chicago-born comedian will perform at Arch Club as part of his third international tour. The September 29 schedule includes an early show, with doors opening at 17:30 and the performance beginning at 18:45. A later show will follow, with doors opening at 20:30 and the show starting at 21:30. The late show is sold out.
Lane is known for combining stand-up comedy with music and other artistic pursuits. His first international tour, “The Al Dente Tour,” reached more than 100 markets and sold more than 100,000 tickets. His subsequent “Can’t Stop Talking Tour” culminated at Radio City Music Hall and was accompanied by a stand-up special with Hulu.
His current “We Gotta Catch Up” tour follows a growing body of work across comedy, television, music and publishing. Lane also released the cookbook Your Pasta Sucks with Chronicle Books, which reached USA Today’s national bestseller list.
Lane has been named among Variety’s “10 Comics to Watch” and has more than 4.5 million followers across social media. His stand-up specials “Hair Plugs & Heartache” and “The Advice Special” have each attracted millions of views on YouTube.
His screen credits include Abbott Elementary, Survival of the Thickest, Molli & Max in the Future, Upgraded and Maintenance Required. He also appears in Netflix’s all-queer stand-up special “Outstanding: A Comedy Revolution” and the Joan Rivers Tribute on NBC/Peacock.
Beyond comedy, Lane has a background in the arts and music. He lived in Italy as an oil painter and classically trained opera singer, and is fluent in five languages. He is also described as having a six-octave singing range.
For his Athens performances, Lane will bring “We Gotta Catch Up” to Arch Club across September 29 and 30, continuing the international tour that follows his previous sold-out and widely viewed work.
