KNOXVILLE, Tenn. (WVLT) — The wait is almost over for one of East Tennessee’s favorite annual traditions. Greek Fest officially returns to Knoxville this weekend from Friday, Sept. 11 through Sunday, Sept. 13.
St. George Greek Orthodox Church, located at 4070 on Kingston Pike, is preparing to welcome thousands of visitors for three days of authentic Greek cuisine, live traditional music and vibrant cultural celebrations.
This year, organizers said they are introducing new food booths and expanded activities, giving returning guests even more to explore.
Visitors can also participate in hands-on activities, including Greek cooking classes, dance lessons, and guided tours of the historic St. George Greek Orthodox Church sanctuary.
The festival kicks off Friday from 11 a.m. to 10 p.m. and continues into the weekend, on Saturday from 11 a.m. to 10 p.m. and Sunday from 11 a.m. to 5 p.m.
Admission is $5, which organizers said serves as a weekend pass, allowing visitors to return as many times as they would like.
For children under 12, UT students, veterans and active-duty military members, admission is free.

First established in 1977, Greek Fest has grown into a premier cultural event in Knoxville, loved for its warm hospitality and delicious homemade foods.
