WEIRTON, W.Va. — Rainy weather on Friday didn’t keep Ohio Valley residents away from the 39th annual Greek Festival at All Saint’s Church in Weirton, where crowds turned out to celebrate Greek culture and support the local community.
Attendees had the opportunity to eat a variety of Greek foods and pastries, listen to Greek music and gain a deeper understanding of Greek culture.
Organizers said the festival is also a way to give back.
“This is an incredible, this a very incredible, very special group of people with strong Orthodox Christian faith, and a deep passion for helping those in need of help. And this festival helps us in that way,” Father Matthew Moore said.
All proceeds from the festival go directly back to the local community.
