DEERFIELD, IL – The Hellenic American Academy (HAA) Drama Club presents a theatrical comedy ‘Θα Φάμε τα Μουστάκια Μας’ (‘We’ll Eat Our Mustaches’) by Georgia Paraskeva, on Friday, May 10, 7 PM, and Saturday, May 11, 1:30 PM, at HAA, 445 Pine Street in Deerfield.
The comedy discusses the dispute and impending war between cats and mice. Although the play belongs to the children’s theatre genre, it conveys strong anti-war messages in a smart and hilarious way that will move everyone in the audience. The performances will be in Greek.
HAA thanked the Hellenic Foundation for their support of the drama club program. “Their grant supported our Greek Drama Club which introduced students to the classic Greek theatre repertoire and combined traditional and modern Greek music,” HAA said in statement via email. “Students strengthened their Greek language skills through the context of stories, characters and themes to create diverse language inputs in a natural and immersive context. This made the learning experience more meaningful, memorable, motivational, and ultimately more successful in retaining the Greek language.”
