Summer just got more fun with the kickoff to Greektown Detroit’s Monroe Street Summer Series starting on July 24. This series of live music, cultural events, local vendor markets, and various activities runs every weekend through Oct. 10.
Organizers of the Greektown Detroit Monroe Street Summer Series want to encourage residents and visitors to visit the public spaces and bolster community engagement. The series will feature a diverse lineup of events that, as Greektown states, is “part of an ongoing effort to activate public spaces, encourage exploration and create memorable experiences that bring residents and visitors together,” according to WXYZ.
The summer series schedule is as follows:
- July 24-26: The Greek Heritage Weekend and Heritage Festival
- Aug. 1-2: Game Day on Monroe
- Aug. 7-9: Country on Monroe
- Aug. 8: City Institute Walking Tours
- Aug. 14-16: Magic and Music Weekend
- Aug. 21-23: Greektown TasteFest
- Aug. 28: The Longest Dinner Table
- Sept. 4-6: Jazz and Culture Weekend
- Sept. 11-13: Detroit Sports Weekend
- Sept. 12: City Institute Walking Tours
- Oct. 10: City Institute Walking Tours
