Two of Greek music’s most enduring voices, Alkistis Protopsalti and Nikos Portokaloglou, come together for a concert at Paphos’s Kastro Square on September 16.
The collaboration brings together two artists who have left a lasting mark on Greek song through decades of continuous presence on the scene. Both have built a relationship of trust with audiences, grounded in the honesty of their performances, the consistent quality of their work and a willingness to evolve without losing their identity.
Their pairing unites two distinct musical worlds that nonetheless share common values: respect for the song itself, the need for genuine communication with audiences, and a love of live performance. Protopsalti brings her instantly recognisable voice and powerful stage presence, meeting Portokaloglou, a songwriter with a personal signature whose songs have accompanied generations of listeners. The show is built on simplicity, sincerity and good music, with the pair’s combined warmth creating a shared atmosphere in which the audience can travel through stories, memories and emotions.
