Focus Entertainment and Asobo Studio have announced that the original soundtrack of their upcoming Resonance: A Plague Tale Legacy will be released on streaming services and available for digital download on August 17, 2026.
The soundtrack features compositions by Olivier Derivière, known for A Plague Tale : Innocence & Requiem, South of Midnight, Dying Light 2, and Assassin’s Creed Black Flag – Freedom Cry.
Derivière commissioned and recorded native musicians in Cyprus, Greece, and other international A-list musical talent, including “The Amalgamation Choir, a unique Cypriot-Greek choir comprising 20 female vocalists led by the renowned Vasiliki Anastasiou; famed Cypriot soloists Anastasiou and Giorgos Kalogirou as well as Yaylı tambur and rebab (bowed string instruments) performed by Evgenios Voulgaris, Carnyx performed by Samuel Meric, Bouzouki/guitar performed by Giani Caserotto, and cello by Deriviere’s long-time collaborator, Eric-Maria Couturier.”
Derivière said the following:
I feel incredibly privileged to be working on games like Resonance: A Plague Tale Legacy, as they allow me to explore music and emotion in a truly unique way. The entire soundtrack is a musical journey, moving between an intimate human story and a mystical enigma. The structure of the OST mirrors the structure of the game and, I believe, can also be experienced as a complete journey on its own. While there is a narrative woven throughout, it is the music’s spiritual dimension that guided me the most throughout its creation.
I couldn’t be more grateful to all the musicians involved, who brought so much of their own culture, artistry, and personality to the score. More than just a soundtrack, this album is an invitation to experience a unique interpretation of some of the oldest Greek myths.
The prequel is set 15 years before A Plague Tale: Requiem and follows a younger Sophia. After a planned heist involving her late father’s bandit gang goes wrong, Sophia is forced to flee Venice alongside her companion Leni. Their escape eventually takes them to Minotaur Island.
Sophia’s investigation will also address the history of the Macula, the supernatural affliction at the center of A Plague Tale: Innocence and Requiem.
Sophia plays differently from Amicia, with combat relying more on her agility and direct attacks. Her options include sword strikes, dagger attacks, parries, and kicks. Exploration also involves navigating dark areas using available light.
Resonance: A Plague Tale Legacy will be released on August 27, 2026, for PlayStation 5, Xbox Series X|S, and PC.
