Sombr Battles Insecurities In Vulnerable New Single ‘My Body Isn’t Ready’ | 102.7 KIIS-FM

Sombr is struggling with his insecurities in his new single “My Body Isn’t Ready.”

The 20-year-old musician dropped his latest song on Thursday (June 25), a vulnerable track about wanting to be with someone but being held back by his anxieties and self-doubt.

“I like you, but my body isn’t ready/ I want you, but the mirror won’t let me/ I try to be the person you’re expecting/ But I’m not ready,” he sings. “If I could crawl out of my own skin, would you let me in?/ If we could just be those kids again, maybe I could swim.”

In the accompanying Gus Black-directed music video, sombr arrives at a party where he already feels out of place and sees a girl, Obsession star Inde Navarrette, who catches his attention; however, a group of bullies, which includes Off Campus actor Josh Heuston, pushes him further into his literal shell, leading him to cover himself in paper mache to make him fit the mold they all expect of him. With some help from Navarrette, he is able to finally break free and be himself.

The “back to friends” singer is preparing for his biggest headlining gig yet with his You Are The Reason North American tour, kicking off July 22 in Mexico City and performing dozens of shows before wrapping up November 23 in New York City.
