Dozens of thousand fans of Greek pop icon Anna Vissi gathered at OAKA Stadium in Athens despite the pouring rain to enjoy a spectacular one-off show by the artist.
The anticipated performance was launched with a pre-show by DJ Argy at 8.00 p.m. before Anna Vissi, whose music career spans five decades, reached the stage on a flying platform.
Referring to her previous sold-out performances at Athens Kallimarmaron Stadium the last two years, she said she kept her promise to her fans for a bigger venue and welcomed them to the OAKA – the massive Athens Olympic Stadium where the greatest international music brands like Madonna and Metallica have performed.

Among several key moments of the evening was when the Greek superstar had an AI conversation with her teenage self, using footage from the public broadcaster of her native Cyprus, when she was just starting off her music career singing the playing the piano.
“We are in the middle of a concert” – Anna Vissi said, before her teenage self naively asks, “and are there more than 200 people?”.
Anna Vissi was also joined on stage by the famous Greek-Australian guitarist Orianthi Panagaris, who was handpicked by Michael Jackson as his lead guitarist for the planned “This Is It” concert residency in London.
As the evening advanced, Anna Vissi paid tribute to another Greek pop superstar; the recently diseased Giorgos Mazonakis, who suffered an untimely death earlier this month.
Last spring, Anna Vissi concluded her 10-year residency at Hotel Ermou in Athens and is reportedly due to premiere at a new, bigger venue for her weekly shows this autumn.
