CHARLESTON — Greek sounds and smells permeated the air in and around the Greek Orthodox Church of the Holy Trinity as the Lowcountry’s oldest food festival kicked off May 8.
Celebrating its 55th year, the annual Charleston Greek Festival has, in years past, drawn over 35,000 people visiting the church’s 30 Race St. home for the event.
Pauline Theo serves beer and wine at the 55th annual Charleston Greek Festival Friday, May 8, 2026, in Charleston.
Attendees of the three-day festival at Holy Trinity, which held the first Greek Orthodox service in Charleston in 1908, will be able to celebrate Greek culture and enjoy authentic cuisine, traditional music, lively dancing and more.
