I mean if we're going off of German Pancakes, they're actually not a breakfast food, but a lunch or dinner food. Eating pancakes for breakfast is a wholly American invention and would probably be seen as as ludicrous as eating pasta or goulash for breakfast before the idea of the American breakfast became a cultural export.

I made these, but after doubling the recipe, I doubled the honey again. Still really good, but really sweet.
Many different things can be put on pancakes or waffles. molasses, jam,different flavours of syrup, cream cheese, pulled pork, liver paste can be used to avoid the grumpiness.
Frying it on olive oil is no bueno: Frying on vegetable oil is generally not best, but especialy it’s dumb idea of frying on extra virgin as some ones do 🤦♂️
But there are also better options: Butter (best – clarified) or straight animal fats.
