Konstantinos Mavropanos oversaw a difficult run of international fixtures away from West Ham.
The Greek defender had been drawn into a Nations League group consisting of Germany, the Netherlands and Serbia.

The expectation would have been for Mavropanos’ nation to find themselves near the bottom of that league table.
However, instead, Greece managed to go undefeated over their four games this extended international break.
The Euro nation are now joint-second in Group 2 of League A, with West Ham’s defender proving to be a key reason behind that.
Mavropanos has helped Greece average less than a goal conceded per game, with his efforts now recognised.
The honour Konstantinos Mavropanos is currently on track to achieve with Greece.
Greece and Mavropanos won two games over the international break and also picked up two clean sheets.

The West Ham star started in all four matches, proving himself against some of Europe’s top players.
Now, his performances have been recognised, with WhoScored sharing their initial team of the tournament so far for the Nations League.
The Greek defender is alongside the likes of England hero Harry Kane, while Kevin De Bruyne and Michael Olise also featured.
It is not bad company for the 28-year-old to be keeping, with Nuno Espirito Santo likely delighted at the form he has managed to have away with Greece.
And it also further proves the level of quality that the West Ham ace has to offer the Irons.

Konstantinos Mavropanos gives injury update after scare away from West Ham Why Nuno Espirito Santo may need to wrap Mavropanos in cotton wool
While Mavropanos will have wanted to start all of his nation’s fixtures, the West Ham manager would have liked to see him get some sort of rest.
The central defender played 96 per cent of the available minutes throughout the break, with four games in just 10 days.
Now, upon the return of the Championship, Mavropanos’ busy schedule is set to continue.
West Ham have three games in eight days, with matchups against QPR, Lincoln and Swansea now looming.
Nuno will have to be careful with the Greek star, and that may see Mavropanos rested in at least one of those upcoming games.
The last thing the Hammers need is one of their first-team mainstays to pick up an injury due to fatigue, and plenty of miles put into their legs.
