A powerful explosion has torn through a building in Athens’ historic Plaka district, injuring at least two people and sending debris and broken glass flying as far as three blocks away. Nearby homes, shops and cars were also damaged in the blast, which happened close to major landmarks including the Acropolis and the Temple of Olympian Zeus.
