The standard of long jump has declined a lot with some rare exceptions like Echevarria
Tentoglou can barely clear 8 meters in most meets and his 8.65 was with elevated take off board
The two greatest athletes of all time in the long jump dont hold the world records but have jumped further than anyone and were also the most consistent. Carl Lewis jumped 9m 10 Indianapolis wrongly called a foul not measured but on video and WAY beyond his 8.70 which had the same camera position. Heike Dreschler had two 7.63 jumps at +2.1 wind.
The foul from the take off board has absolutely destroyed the long jump and shouldnt exist, so many huge jumps have been deleted and talented athletes failed for the sake of 1cm foul but we have been able to measure accurately using video since the 1990s
One day we will get a long jump competition not a who can jump closest to the board competition

Tentoglou debió probar correr los 100 metros planos.
El se elevaba muy poco al hacer salto largo, pero su velocidad lo llevo a las mayores distancias.
En mi opinión, pudo ser de los mejores velocistas.
