The Greek Festival of Sydney is set to present a concert later this month from Melbourne-based band Cats and the Canary, with a giveaway offered to any interested parties through Neos Kosmos.
The event will take place on Sunday 21 April at the Factory Theatre in Marrickville as the band showcases its Greek Swing to the Sydney audience.
The band’s style is a transformation of the great work from some of Greece’s most prolific composers, blending the music of Tsitsanis, Chiotis, Hadjidakis, and the occasional tsifteteli or traditional smyrneika with swing, jazz and even latin rhythms.
The band has performed widely in Melbourne and Sydney to great success, including at various events like the Brunswick Music Festival and Antipodes festival.
The Greek Festival of Sydney has graciously provided a double pass giveaway to the paper for this event.
