đ´ Alexandria in the summer has its own distinct charms â ones that set it apart from Sahel. The old and the new interweave, seaside views sit alongside city living, and the dining scene carries a character that’s harder to find on the North Coast. If youâre heading up that way soon, consider a pit stop in Alexandria, specifically at White & Blue at the Greek Club in Qaitbay.
What to expect: White & Blue delivers on the full Greek Mediterranean package â white and blue interiors, Greek music drifting through the space, and views of the marina that make the setting feel like a genuine export from the Aegean. The menu is a tour of Greek classics: keftedes, spanakopita, feta with honey and sesame, tzatziki, chicken souvlaki, risotto, moussaka, and more. Itâs a broad menu, but it doesn’t feel unfocused.
What we liked: The feta with honey and sesame was a near-perfect opener â sweet and savory in exactly the right proportions, light enough to set the table without overwhelming it. The tzatziki was among the better versions weâve had: well-balanced, properly thick, and not powered by the garlic. The chicken souvlaki was fresh and well-portioned, served with a choice of two sides â we went for fries and vegetables, and the vegetables were, unexpectedly, the stronger of the two. The real highlight, though, was the sunset. The sky held its red hue well past 8pm, and watching it over the marina is the kind of thing that earns a restaurant a return visit on its own.
What we didnât particularly like: White & Blue sits in one of Alexandriaâs busiest tourist spots, and it shows. Expect crowds, noise, and a fair amount of shoulder-to-shoulder navigation when getting in and out. Itâs not a dealbreaker, but it’s worth knowing before you go.
The verdict: White & Blue isnât trying to reinvent anything â itâs delivering a reliable, well-executed Greek Mediterranean experience in a setting that does a lot of the heavy lifting. The food is solid, the views are genuinely worth it, and the overall experience feels like a proper summer evening out. If youâre passing through Alexandria on the way to or from the coast, itâs worth a stop.
