ROCKY RIVER, Ohio (WOIO) – St. Demetrios Greek Orthodox Church in Rocky River will host its annual Greek festival June 25–28, inviting Northeast Ohio area residents to sample traditional food, music, and dance on the city’s west side.

The festival, at 22909 Center Ridge Road, will serve food daily starting at 11 a.m. It will close at 10 p.m. Thursday and Sunday and at 11 p.m. Friday and Saturday.
Organizers say the Kyklonas Hellenic Dancers will perform twice nightly, at 6 p.m. and 8 p.m., with programs inspired by the travels of Odysseus. Live Greek music by Stigma Band is scheduled each evening under a tent, rain or shine.
The event ends Sunday, with a visit from Archbishop Elpidophoros of America, the spiritual leader of the Greek Orthodox Archdiocese of America.
Visitors can shop for souvenirs in the Zapis Activity Center gym or use a drive-thru entrance on the west side of the parking lot to pick up Greek food to go.
A courtyard taverna will open at 4 p.m. Thursday and Friday and 2 p.m. Saturday and Sunday, offering items such as flaming saganaki cheese, lamb chops and calamari. Desserts will include loukoumades honey dough balls and an assortment of pastries. This year’s festival will also feature wine from local urban winery Melted Wings.
