I've noticed lately in Southern California are helicopters that routinely flyover as well as vigilant people who report them.
What has changed is the response time before they get out of control.
Large fires can create their own weather small fire tornadoes routinely dance through the landscape,trees like Pines and Italian cypresses that possess fuel ignite so quickly they sometimes explode sending the remnants the trees through the air only to land miles away and ignite homes and remote areas. where the fire isn't even close too.
It's truly sad to see what's happening to Greece but this is a phenomenon that will only get worse as time progresses in my opinion
In the short term we cannot contain never mind reverse global warming and 2050 net zero isn't going to be met. We must adapt instead, such as managing dried vegetation, firebreaks, a lot of hosepipes or even fleets of drones that can automatically drop water on fires.

I live in Southern California where half of my neighborhood was burned down and if it weren't for the ultimate bravery of the fireman,, I would have lost my home.
When I came home to see my neighbor's homes smoldering it look like a war zone. I realize I'm in a high fire danger area and that's part of the risk although now it's much different than it used to be especially for the rest of the planet.
