Across the Eid period, the destination will host a curated line-up of performances internationally acclaimed artists and emerging voices as part of a week-long Jazz Festival.
On 30 May, pianist and composer Kostis Christodoulou and his ensemble ‘To Pragma’ will present atmospheric compositions blending swing, blues and modal jazz, creating a meditative musical journey beneath the Messinian sky.
Also performing that evening is internationally renowned Italian trombonist Gianluca Petrella, whose contemporary approach to jazz draws inspiration from legendary artists including Thelonious Monk and Sun Ra, weaving together improvisation, electronics and expressive soundscapes.
On 31 May The Jazz Police will present Ready for Freddie, a tribute to legendary trumpeter Freddie Hubbard curated by Manos Theodosakis, revisiting the vibrant energy and spirit of Hubbard’s most influential compositions. Joining the programme is Barcelona-born saxophonist and composer Irene Reig, one of the leading voices of the new European jazz generation, known for performances that blend modern jazz language with melodic storytelling and expressive improvisation.
At W Costa Navarino, the destination’s beachfront resort, guests can also experience Holy Spirit Sounds on 31 May, the signature Holy Spirit weekend celebration curated by Yiannis Yerontakis of Cozmo Athens. Meanwhile, the Penelope’s Heritage weaving workshop offers guests an opportunity to engage with traditional local craftsmanship, honouring the enduring symbolism of Penelope through creative expression and cultural connection.
