Pride & Passion Celebrates 20 Years with “Go Greek and Roman” at Tampa Museum of Art

Pride & Passion is preparing to celebrate two decades with its signature LGBTQ+ fundraising event at The Tampa Museum of Art, featuring an evening inspired by gods, goddesses, heroes, muses and classical mythology.

This week, The Big Gay Radio Show recorded a special streaming-exclusive interview with Nick Buchanan, Chair of Pride & Passion, to discuss the history and mission behind the event, this year’s theme and what attendees can expect when Pride & Passion returns to the Tampa Museum of Art.

Pride & Passion: Go Greek and Roman will take place Saturday, Sept. 19th, from 7-11 p.m. at the Tampa Museum of Art. Guests are encouraged to embrace the theme with Greco-Roman cocktail attire, with costumes also encouraged.

The museum says attendees can expect an open bar, cuisine from local LGBTQ+ friendly vendors and performances inspired by the drama and romance of classical mythology. Guests must be 21 or older to attend the event.

This year’s event will directly benefit the Tampa Museum of Art’s Artful Connections program.

The program uses art to encourage healing, creativity and connection for people navigating mental health challenges, trauma and other health or emotional concerns. The museum says proceeds from ticket sales and sponsorships help support the program and its efforts to build community through art.

The full Big Gay Radio Show streaming-exclusive interview with Nick Buchanan explores the history behind Pride & Passion, the inspiration for this year’s “Go Greek and Roman” celebration and what guests can expect from the event.
