I'm Greek from Philly, for some reason restaurant spanakopita doesn't compare to home made. You'll never get a great one unless you have a Greek friend….or go to Greece

You must have some Greek in your blood as you're the first non-Greek pronounce "Gyro" correctly. Either that or you have a few Greek friends. Most people who are not Greek pronounce it with the G sound as in George. The "G" is silent in the English pronunciation Gyro. So it sounds like Yeero. Glad you liked the food. Great video.

The greek hummus is called fava, it's made out of fava beans,onion,lemon, herbs and olive oil, it's not like the levantine hummus with chickpeas and tahini. So it's quite different, flavour and texture wise
My friend the feta dip we call it turocafteri and I think that now you have to come in Greece to taste the real thing…

The right way to taste souvlaki or gyros is without fried potatoes. Just the meat in a pita with tomato and onions.
Dont waste ur time eating those there come to greece salonica and eat then u will understand that what u eat is nothing compared to the real thing and dont listen to ppl that say come to athens they dont know shit trust me 🙂

The sauce is called tirokafteri which means spicy cheese (dip for the pitta). Spicy fetta is on top of the fries and that's mild spicy compared to spicy cheese.
First time I've heard a foreigner pronouncing all Greek food the correct way! Even spanakopitta and gyros! :))
Btw … houmous is not Greek food but we use it a lot. It comes from chickpeas.
The herbs you are referring to is mainly oregano and we use lemon and olive oil a lot.
Sorry dude, this is not so Greek. Hummus, spicy feta, lamb gyros, this orange colour sauce are not typical to find in Greece. It is not necessarily bad what you got, but it is not Greek. Maybe Americanized Greek to keep it more familiar to the people there.
It looks to me as the food has been waiting too long to be filmed and this kind of food (Fast food) must be eaten as long as it steams.
