YOUNGSTOWN, Ohio (WKBN) — Thursday kicked off the Greek summerfest in downtown Youngstown.
St. Nicholas Greek Orthodox Church has put on the event for the last 42 years.
All weekend long, people can stop by and try a wide range of Greek food from lamb gyros to Greek donuts. They’ll also have live music playing at points throughout the weekend to give Youngstown a taste of Greek culture.
“We’ve got the 60 by 120 foot tent out there with seating for around a thousand people. And you will have a hard time finding a seat Friday and Saturday nights. This will be the place in downtown Youngstown to be,” said Bill Dalambakis, co-chair of the Summerfest.
The festival started up Thursday morning and will run through Sunday night at St. Nicholas Church on N Walnut Street. It’s open till 8 p.m. Thursday, from 11 a.m. to 11 p.m. Friday and Saturday and from 11 a.m. to 6 p.m. Sunday.
