Donation of 20 racing boats to the Hellenic Sailing Federation

The long-standing support of Greek sports has been a strategic choice of Stoiximan since the first day of its operation. From supporting Greek male and female athletes in successive Olympic Games to its partnership as Gold Sponsor of the Hellenic Olympic Committee, Stoiximan remains steadily focused on creating the conditions that allow athletes to develop and pursue their goals.

As noted in a relevant announcement, within the framework of this commitment, Stoiximan, through the Hellenic Olympic Committee, proceeded with the donation of 20 racing boats to the Hellenic Sailing Federation, substantially strengthening the development of Greek sailing and creating new opportunities for the athletes of the next generation.

The donation includes 10 Optimist-type boats and 10 ILCA-type boats, which will be hosted at the Athens International Sailing Centre and will be used by the national teams, as well as at the Federation’s training camps. At the same time, they will serve the needs of male and female athletes from the regions and the islands, areas where access to the required equipment and suitable training conditions continues to be a significant challenge.

The initiative responds to a real need of Greek sailing. The transport of racing boats entails significant financial and organizational cost for families and clubs, often limiting the ability of young athletes to participate in high-level training and competitions. With the availability of the 20 boats, more young people from every corner of Greece gain access to the same preparation conditions, strengthening equal participation and their ability to develop.

President of the Hellenic Olympic Committee Isidoros Kouvelos stated: “I would like to thank Stoiximan and personally Mr. Nikos Flingos for the support of the work of the Hellenic Olympic Committee. And it is not only the money it offers for the purchase of these 20 boats but also what it provides for their transport to competitions abroad, which is also a high expense, but it greatly helps our young athletes who will now have their own boats.

We continue to work with our eyes on the future and we will support more young children aged 14 and 15 so that they do not leave sports. The goal is not only medals, but above all the value of sport.”

This initiative was born through the common goal of providing solutions to needs that substantially affect the daily lives of athletes. For Stoiximan, support for Greek sports acquires real value when it translates into interventions with a lasting impact, which broaden athletes’ possibilities and strengthen the prospects of sport overall.

CEO of Stoiximan, Nikos Flingos, stated: “Stoiximan’s relationship with Greek sports has been built over time on trust, consistency and the deep conviction that every athlete deserves to have the conditions to develop their talent.

This specific initiative reflects exactly this philosophy. We want more children, from every region of Greece, to have access to the same training and development opportunities. Because the strong foundations created today are the ones that will shape the successes of Greek sports in the coming years.”

Sailing is one of the sports that have brought Greece significant international distinctions and continue to highlight high-level athletes. Strengthening infrastructure and young athletes’ access to the appropriate equipment are basic prerequisites for maintaining this course.

With a steady focus on supporting Greek sports, Stoiximan continues to invest in initiatives that create long-term impact for athletes, federations and society, confirming its commitment to actively contribute to shaping an even stronger future for Greek sports.
