Giorgos Kakosaios draws sold-out crowds in Melbourne during Australian tour

Greek singer Giorgos Kakosaios has completed a successful Melbourne leg of his 2026 Australian tour, drawing capacity crowds to two sold-out performances at Kinisi at Trak in Toorak.

The rising star of contemporary Greek laïko music performed across two highly anticipated nights, delivering a program filled with popular hits, emotion and the atmosphere of a traditional Greek nightclub.

From the opening songs, the dance floor was packed as audiences sang along and celebrated late into the evening, creating scenes reminiscent of some of Greece’s most popular live music venues.

The strong response from Melbourne’s Greek community saw both events sell out days before the performances, highlighting Kakosaios’ growing popularity among Greek-Australian audiences and fans of contemporary Greek music.

Joining him on stage were singers Christina Ralli and Korina Margari, whose performances added further energy to the program and contributed to the success of the evenings.

Guests enjoyed a showcase of well-known laïko songs, dancing and live entertainment, reinforcing the enduring connection between the Greek diaspora and contemporary Greek culture.

The performances were marked by enthusiastic audience participation throughout the night, with many attendees describing the events as among the standout Greek entertainment experiences in Melbourne this year.

The two sold-out shows further cement Kakosaios’ reputation as one of the most promising artists of the new generation of Greek laïko music, with Melbourne audiences giving him a warm welcome and responding enthusiastically to his blend of passion, authenticity and modern Greek sound.

Following his successful Melbourne appearances, Kakosaios will continue his Australian tour with a performance in Sydney on Friday, 26 June.
