Greek Festival returning to Wilmington


WILMINGTON, N.C. (WECT) – The Saint Nicholas Greek Orthodox Church is inviting the community to its annual Greek Festival this month.

The festival will include homemade, cultural foods prepared by Greek chefs, along with music, dancing and church tours.

Visitors getting food can dine-in, get carry-out, or go through the festival’s drive-thru.

“Hospitality is one of the most noble virtues in the Hellenic culture,” festival organizers said.

The 35th annual Wilmington Greek Festival is scheduled for Friday, May 15, through Sunday, May 17, at Saint Nicholas on S. College Road.

Admission is free until 5 p.m. on Friday night. Starting then, any attendee 12 and up will have to pay $5.00 to get in. If guests hold onto their admission ticket, they can use it throughout the weekend to get in.

Festival times are below:

  • Friday: 11 a.m. to 9 p.m.
  • Saturday: 11 a.m. to 9 p.m.
  • Sunday: 11 a.m. to 5 p.m.

The festival will be held at the St. Nicolas parish church located at 608 South College Road in Wilmington, right across from UNCW.
