Xronia Polla Petros Iakovidis, Who Turns 35 Today


Iakovidis, born in Kavala, Greece, is a prominent figure in the Greek music scene, renowned for his powerful performances and impactful songwriting. His musical journey began in his early student years, where he mastered various instruments such as guitar, bouzouki, percussion, and piano

In March 2015, Iakovidis released his debut single, “O erotas mou gine” (Become My Love), under the Minos EMI label.

Born in Kavala, Iakovidis has been involved in music since his early years as a student, studying various instruments, including guitar, bouzouki, percussion, and piano. His career in Greek music began to rise steadily in 2015, not only as a performer of his songs but also as a composer and lyricist. He has penned major hits for renowned artists such as Konstantinos Argiros, Natassa Theodoridou, and Yiannis Plutarchos.

In 2016, he followed up with several successful tracks: “Vale” (Pour), “Agkalia” (Hug), and “Koritsaki mou” (My Little Girl), all of which charted in Greece. His first studio album, Apotipomata (Fingerprints), was launched in June 2017 and achieved gold certification within months.

At the end of 2018, Iakovidis released his second studio album, Sou Ta ‘Dosa Ola (I Gave You Everything). The album features 10 tracks with music composed by Iakovidis and lyrics by Olga Vlachopoulou and Vicky Gerothodorou. Notable singles from the album include “Gela mou” (Laugh for Me), “Vradia aximerota” (Nights Without Dawn), “Min tolmiseis” (Don’t You Dare), “Sou ta ‘dosa ola,” and “Paraferesai” (You Are Behaving Poorly).

On July 2, 2019, Iakovidis released the single “Fovamai” (I’m Scared). The following year, he put out “Koimisou apopse edo” (Sleep Here Tonight), “S’agapao sou fonaxa” (I Shouted to You ‘I Love You’), and “Mi thimoneis” (Don’t Get Mad).

In 2021, he won the Best Video–Elliniko Horeftiko award at the MAD Video Music Awards for “S’agapao sou fonaxa.” That year, he also released “Tatouaz” (Tattoo), “Mou ‘leipses poli” (I’ve Missed You So Much), and “Asto” (Let It Go). “Mou ‘leipses poli” earned him the Best Laiko Song award at the MAD Video Music Awards 2022.

Summer 2022 saw the release of his third studio album, Odos Tsimiski. Later that year, he was honoured by the mayor of Thessaloniki with a special plaque for his contribution to the city’s iconic Odos Tsimiski Street. After signing with Panik Records, he released the successful single “Na na na (Tragoudo gia sena)” (I’m Singing for You), followed by “Ah kardoula mou” (Oh My Little Heart) and “Sikose to Telefono” (Pick Up the Phone). In 2022, he was a lead performer at the Fantasia Live show with Josephine, and in 2023, he returned for another season at Fantasia Live, this time alongside Lena Zevgara.

In 2023, he released his latest album, Kalispera (Good Evening), through Panik Records. His sold-out live performances, chart-topping hits, and back-to-back records for YouTube views and social media engagement have solidified his status as one of his generation’s top and most influential artists.
