Episode 1 in the series is here: https://youtu.be/Ui4GNWqgT1A
What terrifying trials did Jason and the Argonauts have to overcome to win the famous Golden Fleece from a fire-breathing dragon, in one of the greatest greek myths of all time? When and where does this thrilling story come from? How does it tie together the tales of Odysseus, Orpheus, Achilles and Circe?
Join Tom and Dominic as they conclude their epic journey into the glorious heart of Greek mythology, as they explore their evolution in an increasingly skeptical Hellenistic world, and answer the question; why did the Greek myths endure and captivate audiences throughout history, in a way that no other culture’s mythology did?

No opinion matters less than Tom Hanks’s
Bin chickens!
I think you should have used the argonautica of Orpheus
History of the past is fascinating. will not miss it. Hera the queen of the gods. having a crush on Jason is funny.
Graham Hancock catching strays… 🤣
Dominic’s like the fact checker, but he’s not Wikipedia
I love myth, but my god jason and the argonaughts was impossible to watch
1:10 … The heat pumps & EV chargers are excessively wasteful of electricity, which is generated by hydrocarbon & coal fuels, so they say. But, heck, that's ok. The real myths explain why, as follows. We all know that electric power comes to us free, from the mythological subterranean Perpetual Energy Complex on the isle of Lemnos, where all the women (due to an epidemic of ear-worm mind viruses of unknown, apparently spontaneous, origin) killed the toxic men and bred, instead, dweebs and cucks as slaves to tend the power generating monsters. Somehow, they succeeded in circumventing the Second Law of Thermodynamics, which was co-emergent with space-time itself. Quite an achievement. They then proceeded, on instruction from the mind viruses, to infect the rest of humanity with sophist, emotional commands about waste vs. efficiency, dependence vs. control and consumption vs. contribution. These edicts were the exact dopamine dosage that the new dweeb horde recruits needed so desperately, in order to sustain the vanity of their self-hatred and assuage the pain of ever present cognitive dissonance in the face of real facts, almost immediately recruiting most into the dweeb sheep hordes in lands far and wide and the Lemnos "Femnossus-19" virus spread across those lands, until… on one inauspicious day a man named Jason showed up and, together with his Argonauts, beheaded all the Lesbos of Lemnos and thus cut the chain of destruction. This was the moment the ancient scribes describe as the rebirth of civilization at the hands of men. It is thus written.
I had nightmares about the skeleton people from ‘Jason and the Argonauts’ well into my teens. Thanks mom and dad!
I think you mean Tom Hanks was being sarcastic rather than ‘ironic’ regarding his apparent enthusiasm for the 1960s film version of Jason.
I think he probably did like it. Lots of people do. The film was undeniably groundbreaking.
Medea was the mithycal mother of persians to encian Greek.
Unless I'm misunderstanding the actual timeline with the Greek prequels, they are SLIGHTLY different from the Star Wars prequel movies.
Star Wars (the movie) is book 4. The later prequels follow books that were already written in order, 1-3, before 4 that was the first movie.
16:14 Ibis AKA Bin Chicken
I was delighted when you read out Zeus' closing lines in Jason and the Argonauts. It's a brilliant film. I'm 70 and still love it. I can practically recite it. When Harryhausen's wonderful Talos turns his head to look at Heracles and Hylas it's still chilling; a huge improvement on the one who trots around Crete, throwing rocks 😂
So many stories………but only one history………what was the last 12k years like in the Mediterranean………
I’ve watched for the 1st time a couple of weeks ago and I love it! For me the especial effects, despite being dated, hold very well.
That’s the thing, Grasshopper; there is no point. Anyone claiming otherwise is selling you something.
I was born in 1990 and loved Jason and the arognauts as a kid
this is my first time here, so when i heard tom holland was going to be helping tell the story, i got very excited (i just saw the odyssey last night) 😂😂😂
Brilliant ! Thank you
