President Donald Trump confirmed reports that he’s considering firing Kimberly Guilfoyle from her ambassadorship to Greece just over a year after she was confirmed.
During a gaggle outside the White House Monday on his way to an Ohio rally, Trump said, “We are looking at it. We are not happy,” he said about the Guilfoyle situation.
Guilfoyle is embroiled in allegations of corruption for allegedly getting rich and powerful businessmen to pay for her travel and expenses.
The Wall Street Journal first reported Saturday that administration officials were “discussing whether she should be removed, and a decision is expected by President Trump soon.”
In Saturday’s report, the Journal said Guilfoyle bragged about “her close ties to two Greek tycoons and said they were bankrolling her high-rolling trips around the world.”
Audio tapes reviewed by the Journal allegedly revealed that Guilfoyle told one Greek tycoon, “You know, I can deliver the world to you. Which you deserve.”
At another point in the conversation, Guilfoyle told the man, “I’m going to make you a lot of f—ing money.”
The Journal also revealed that Guilfoyle “had flown to the January 2026 World Economic Forum on a private jet with Alexandros Exarchou, chief executive of the Greek construction company Aktor Group.”
Guilfoyle allegedly encouraged “governments from Bulgaria to Albania” to do billions of dollars of business with Exarchou, according to the report.
Later that month, Guilfoyle was “planning to fly to Paris, on a jet with a Greek shipping tycoon, Nikolas Tsakos, to attend his wife’s fashion show, she said in the recording. They had spent part of the holiday season together in the exclusive ultraluxury Swiss resort of Gstaad.”
On Friday, the Journal broke its first story on Guilfoyle based on Signal texts between Guilfoyle and Trump donor Eric Deters. In the texts, Guilfoyle asked Deters for $100,000 to settle her credit card debt in exchange for administration access.
“It won’t show up anywhere if you wire money to American Express. Please,” Guilfoyle wrote to Deters.
When first asked about the report, Trump said, “I just heard about it. It’s too bad. I mean, I don’t know. She’s, she’s an ambassador. Uh, I just heard a little bit about it. I don’t know too much, but she was always very nice.”
Guilfoyle was engaged to Donald Trump Jr. before their breakup and her subsequent ambassadorship.
