Netflix’s Kaos is a British series that is a contemporary retelling of ancient gods in Greek Mythology. The eight-episode series reimagines how ancient Greek gods would interact with the mortal world today.
In the world of Kaos, humans are not as significant as Zeus, the ancient cruel Greek god who is the supreme entity. When Zeus finds a wrinkle on his forehead one day, his life takes a turn for the worse.
Thinking that his time is up, Zeus gets increasingly paranoid and begins a wrathful rampage. As he begins to resent his devotees, his ex-friend, Prometheus who is now a prisoner devises a plan to take down Zeus.
Prometheus enlists the help of three humans who begin to understand their roles in a larger Greek god-filled conspiracy. Kaos also shows the planning and plotting of Zeus’s family members, Hera, Dionysus, Hades, and Poseidon.

Lucifer begins to fall for Chloe Decker who is a detective with the LA police department. 6) Penny Dreadful: City of Angels
Penny Dreadful: City of Angels is a spin-off of the show Penny Dreadful. The events in the show take place five decades after the events of the original series. Set in the 1930s, it is about Tiago Vega who investigates a series of brutal murders.
The detective along with his partner deals with supernatural forces like the Mexican deity Santa Muerte and her demon sister Magda. The detectives find themselves caught between divine forces, racial conflicts, and war and Nazi threats. Like Kaos, the series belongs to the fantasy genre. The plot is about a strong-headed warrior named Sigrid who falls for a human king named Leif. When their union angers Thor, Sigrid seeks the help of Loki, Thor’s brother to kill him for good.
While the series is animated, the plot is similar to Kaos as both storylines have gods as key elements of their plots. Both series also have themes of revenge, anger, and power in their plot.
