Theo Evan To Represent Cyprus At Eurovision 2025

Theo Evan is set to represent Cyprus at the Eurovision Song Contest 2025, which will be hosted in Basel, Switzerland. He is the first artist to be announced for this year’s competition.

Born and raised in Nicosia, Cyprus, Theo has been honing his talents as both a singer and dancer since the age of seven. Remarkably, he is the first Cypriot-born artist to represent Cyprus at Eurovision since Hovig in 2017 and the first performer not born in Australia to represent the country since 2022.

Fans can expect Theo’s Eurovision entry to be released later in the season for this 69th edition of the contest. His music style is a unique blend of Mediterranean pop, infused with dark and gritty tones, complemented by a fresh, contemporary pop fusion.

Theo’s artistic journey began with dance lessons, singing in his school choir, and participating in theater productions, where he garnered numerous accolades. As an adult, he ventured to the United States to study music at the prestigious Berklee College of Music in Boston, Massachusetts.

Throughout his career, Theo has performed alongside industry legends like Pharrell Williams, John Legend, and Justin Timberlake. He even made a cameo appearance as an extra in the critically acclaimed HBO TV show, Euphoria.

Cyprus first entered the Eurovision Song Contest in 1981, achieving a sixth-place finish with the song “Μόνικα.” The country has reached fifth place on three occasions: in 1982 with Anna Vissi’s “Μόνο η αγάπη,” in 1997 with Hara & Andreas Constantinou’s “Μάνα μου,” and in 2004 with Lisa Andreas’s powerful ballad “Stronger Every Minute.” Cyprus secured its best result in 2018 when Eleni Foureira earned second place with her electrifying performance of “Fuego.”
