Daft Punk’s Thomas Bangalter has shared a new single, ‘Mirage: Part II’.
‘Mirage: Part II’ is lifted from Bangalter’s forthcoming album ‘Mirage – Ballet For 16 Dancers’, which was announced yesterday, and was produced to soundtrack a 60-minute ballet of the same name. Premiered last May at the Grand Théâtre de Genève, the ballet was created by choreographer Damien Jalet and contemporary artist Kōhei Nawa.
The new record, which is split into eight parts, is inspired by the music of Greek-French composer Iannis Xenakis, and will be released on 5th June via classical label Erato.

The new LP follows Bangalter’s 2023 solo album ‘Mythologies’, another orchestral score for a French ballet. That same year, he also produced a soundtrack for the dance pice ‘Chiroptera Matiere Premiere’, which was released on the ‘Chiroptera’ soundtrack album in 2024.
Last month, Bangalter’s Alexandra Palace b2b set with Fred again.. was made available to stream in full via Apple Music. The show marked the pair’s second time performing together, following a set with Busy P and Erol Alkan at the Centre Pompidou in Paris last year, which was his first DJ appearance in 16 years.
