Helena Paparizou Announced As Eurovision 2024 Spokesperson


Helena Paparizou, the winner of Eurovision 2005, has been named as the Greek spokesperson for Eurovision 2024.

ERT, the Greek broadcaster, revealed that Helena Paparizou will announce the results of the Greek jury at Eurovision 2024. This year holds special significance as it marks the 50th anniversary of Greece’s participation in the contest. Paparizou, their only winner to date, will announce the results live from ERT’s Radio Megaro in Athens. The spokespersons announced for the Eurovision Song Contest 2024 include:

  • Azerbaijan – Aysel Teymurzadeh
  • Belgium – Livia Dushkoff
  • Georgia – Sopho Khalvashi
  • Greece – Helena Paparizou
  • Luxembourg – Désirée Nosbusch
  • Slovenia – Lorella Flego
  • Spain – Soraya
  • Switzerland – Jennifer Bosshard

Representing Greece at the contest this year is Marina Satti with her song “Zari”.

Who is Marina Satti? Marina Satti, born on December 26, 1986, in Athens to a Greek mother and a Sudanese Arab father, was raised on the island of Crete. She began learning piano at a young age before studying classical singing in high school. Furthering her musical studies at the Nakas Conservatory in Athens and the Berklee College of Music in Boston, she has established herself as a notable musician.

Greece in the Eurovision Song Contest Greece made its Eurovision debut in 1974 with Marinella’s “Krasi, thalassa kai t’agori mou.” It finished 11th with 7 points. In 2005, Helena Paparizou secured Greece’s first victory with her song “My Number One,” earning 230 points and beating runners-up Malta by 38 points.
