I have watched many "Trying Greek food in a Greek restaurant" videos from outside of Greece. I have noticed that the vast majority of them are owned by people from Southern Greece. My only complaint is when they make some statements like "This is how it's done in Greece" or "This and that is the way to eat this in Greece" it's like someone from Chigaco opening a pizzeria in another country that serves deep dish pizza and starts claiming "This is the pizza we eat in the U.S" , which is a false statement. My point being that you might get similar food to the ones portrayed in these types of videos if you visit certain parts of the country and something much different when in others , including appearance , taste , ingredients , cooking methods etc. Greece might be a small country but the culinary diversity is disproportionate to it's size. Overall though it's a good sample of what Greek food is , especially the way they make their Yeero.
P.S PLEASE for the love of God stop doing this "OPA" thing and lighting the cheese on fire for the show. The cheese is enough on it's own to "Wow" people. This goes for ALL restaurants that do it both outside and inside Greece (which is 99.9% the tourist traps here) .
Fun Fact: Out of the dozens of similar videos I've seen , the most spot on restaurant was in Japan out of all places. What's even more weird is that the cook is a Japanese guy taught by the original Greek owner (Also from Southern Greece).
he sounds like hes from lebanon not greece, lolol
Αυτή τη χαζομάρα με το….ώπα…. σταματήστε την!!! έλεος.στην Ελλάδα φωνάζουμε ώπα μόνο όταν χορεύουμε.
As a Greek I must say it is really close to what we have here. Not 100% but really close. Usually restaurants like this are "traps". They sell Greek food to people who don't know exactly how it supposed to be and they usually cheap out with the excuse "that's how we do it in Greece opaaa". This one is not doing this. Well done!
nice menu paper lol
there is no authentic yeeros unless you visit Greece….come on!!!
Greek here, Mythos is one of the worst beers in the world, they put sugar in it to elevate alcohol levels. It's bad, but they put most of their budget in commercials. Never drink this pisswater, prefer microbreweries.
Greek food is something else! 💙
I chuckled a bit when they gave him a whole brick of bougatsa uncut, no cinnamon, and the phyllo seemed like it was made of titanium alloy.
But he seemed to enjoy it, so that's what matters.
Beef is very expensive for gyros and it does not have much fat which enriches the flavor of the meat
Gyros on Greece is most of the time done with pork marinated in spuces
with all due respect to the owner, but authentic Greek food is served only in Greece abroad. Greek food is not the same 😞
Its an authentic greek restaurant if it has nylon covers and the menu is a piece of paper.
Greece 🇬🇷🇬🇷🇬🇷🇬🇷🇬🇷❤️
I love Greek food! Excited to go there.
Oh Wow, how wonderful the food looks! I hope to visit this restaurant on a visit.
Can't wait!
