Exclusive – Anupamaa actor Rushad Rana on his recent trip to Greece with wife Ketki; says ‘she’s a very fun travel partner who loves exploring different cuisines and places’

Back from Greece after attending a wedding with his wife, Ketki, actor Rushad Rana says he loved his brief holiday. The actor shares that he was glad to have spent time at the wedding while also exploring the area a bit.
“We were in Greece for two weeks. We had gone for Ketki’s best friend’s wedding. So, it was a destination wedding, and then we decided to explore the place a little bit.We stayed on an island called Crete and spent a day in Athens on the way back. Unfortunately, we couldn’t visit Santorini or other islands in Greece because it was a very busy time with bookings and everything. Still, it was a beautiful experience. I’m a beach person, and I was happiest on the beach, in front of the water, and in the water. It was my happy place,” he says.
Talking about traveling with his wife, he says, “The best part about traveling with Ketki is that she takes care of everything, from the bookings to selecting the destination and flights. She openly admits that I just pick up the bags and go—I don’t do much. She handles it all, and that’s what makes traveling with her so great. Plus, she’s a very fun travel partner who loves exploring different cuisines and places. She’s a joy to travel with.”
He adds, “I think we’re both equally excited when we travel, but our excitement varies depending on what we’re doing. I’m more of a nature lover, so visiting places with a lot of natural beauty excites me. For her, it’s the city life that excites her more—exploring different places, trying new cuisines, doing a bit of shopping, that kind of stuff.”
When asked if he collects souvenirs from every new place he visits, he says, “Yes! We both love collecting souvenirs, and we always make it a point to get magnets from the places we travel to, which we stick on our fridge. It’s something I’ve done since I started traveling abroad, and Ketki does it too. We enjoy bringing home items that remind us of the places we’ve visited. It’s always sweet to look back on those memories.”
Talking about his do’s and don’ts while traveling, he says, “Well, when it comes to travel, I’m definitely an over-packer. I tend to bring a few extra clothes and things like that, but after this trip, I think I’ll change that habit. I took a lot of extra clothes and ended up paying for excess baggage. On the ‘do’s’ side, I’m a methodical traveler—I love to have printed copies of all my tickets, passports, and important documents. I don’t like to rely solely on my phone for that. As for the ‘don’ts,’ I’m a law-abiding citizen, so I always follow the rules of the country I’m visiting. If certain items aren’t allowed in a country or on a flight, I simply don’t bring them. It’s as simple as that.”
Sharing his future travel plans, Rushad says, “Within India, I would love to travel every two months. I love traveling. Internationally, we’ve mutually decided to visit one international destination every year, if not more, and if I work on a project that takes me abroad, then obviously Ketki would be accompanying me.”
He adds, “I would love to go to London; that is definitely on my travel bucket list. I have never been to the US.”

When asked about the most memorable part of this trip, he says, “The most memorable part of the trip was attending her best friend’s wedding, whom I’m also very close to now. The entire family and all of her school friends were there, making it feel like a beautiful reunion. I love that family and her friends; they are all lovely people. Being together, enjoying each other’s company, sharing meals, and traveling together is what made this trip extremely memorable for me and for us.”
