Dayton Greek Festival concludes with vibrant cultural celebration

DAYTON, Ohio (WKEF) — Greek music, dancing, food, community and culture were celebrated on the final day of the 66th Dayton Greek Festival.

This year’s festival had hundreds of guests in attendance at the 103-year-old Annunciation Greek Orthodox Church which offered tours.

Organizers said the festival is very exciting and dear to the church’s traditions.

“We’re inviting everyone to come be Greek for the day. We are back in person and no longer doing the drive-through, which is very exciting for our parish. It started as a church picnic and it grew into the festival that it is today,” said Christina Panagouleas-Stephens.

She said the festival is a major fundraiser for the church.

“This enriches our culture and keeps our church afloat. We hope this is a successful weekend because it projects how our year will go. We’re excited to see everyone back,” said Panagouleas-Stephens.

Next year’s Greek fest will be held the weekend after Labor Day.
