LOS ANGELES – The acclaimed podcast ‘Film Talk with AJ Dean’ welcomes internationally recognized filmmaker, writer, producer, and composer Nicholas “Niko” Franghias for a special episode airing Monday, May 25, 12 PM PST.
Born in Greece and trained in the United Kingdom, Franghias began his career at the BBC in London before moving into advertising and later international filmmaking. He is best known for his award-winning art-history documentary ‘Made by Lysippus’, which screened throughout Europe and at the National Gallery of Art in Washington, DC.
Throughout his career, Franghias has earned numerous honors, including production-development awards from the Greek Film Center and the European Union’s MEDIA Program. In 2008, he received the Greek Film Center’s top emerging writer-director award for his narrative feature work.
Following Greece’s devastating economic crisis, Franghias relocated to the United States, where he continued expanding his artistic career. He also served as Director of the Greek Film Fest Chicago from 2011 to 2013 and became a naturalized U.S. citizen in 2019.
