Oakleigh Glendi 2026: Celebrating 11 years of Greek culture and community spirit

Oakleigh Glendi returned to Warrawee Park in 2026 for its 11th edition, celebrating Greek heritage, music, food and the vibrant multicultural spirit that has made the festival a highlight of Melbourne’s community calendar.

Building on the success of its landmark tenth anniversary in 2025, which attracted more than 40,000 visitors, this year’s festival continued the tradition of bringing together Greek Australians and people from diverse cultural backgrounds.

Over the years, Oakleigh Glendi has grown from a local community gathering into a major celebration of Hellenism, showcasing the traditions, hospitality and cultural identity of Melbourne’s Greek community.

Kelly Kelekidou headlines the 2026 celebrations

A major highlight of this year’s festival will be the appearance of popular Greek singer Kelly Kelekidou, who is scheduled to perform on Saturday, 31 October, from 7.30 pm to 9.50 pm. Her concert will be followed by a spectacular fireworks display.

The two-day programme will feature traditional Greek music, dance performances and multicultural entertainment, including appearances by the Cretan Brotherhood, Demotika and performers representing Melbourne’s Korean, Serbian and Russian communities. The Greek Herald+1

Greek traditions and the next generation

Sunday, 1 November, will place particular emphasis on community participation and preserving Greek heritage.

Students from Oakleigh Grammar and the Sts Anargiri Greek Language Centre will perform, alongside representatives of the Lemnian Community of Victoria, the Pancretan Association of Melbourne and Pontiaki Estia.

Musical performances by Dio Patrides and Maria Maroulis will add to the celebrations. The Greek Herald+1

Food, family entertainment and community spirit

Visitors can look forward to traditional souvlakia, freshly made loukoumades and a wide variety of Greek and multicultural cuisine.

This year’s attractions include a dedicated Cooking Stage featuring chefs and culinary demonstrations, an Artisan Market showcasing handmade products, and Kids Kingdom, offering activities and entertainment for younger visitors.

The popular loukoumades eating competition will also return, adding a light-hearted touch to the festivities. The Greek Herald+1

3XY Radio Hellas joins the celebrations

3XY Radio Hellas will also be at Oakleigh Glendi, broadcasting live from the festival, bringing the music, excitement and community atmosphere to listeners across Melbourne.

Celebrating its 32nd anniversary this October, the station continues its longstanding commitment to supporting Greek community events and promoting Hellenic culture in Australia.

Eleven years of Glendi magic

Organised by the Greek Orthodox Community of Oakleigh and District, with support from the City of Monash and the Victorian Multicultural Commission, Oakleigh Glendi continues to celebrate the traditions of the past while embracing new generations of Greek Australians.

Taking place just days after OXI Day, this year’s festival provides another opportunity to celebrate the enduring strength of Hellenism in Melbourne.

Oakleigh Glendi 2026 will take place on Saturday, 31 October, from noon to 10 pm, and Sunday, 1 November, from noon to 7 pm, at Warrawee Park, Oakleigh. Entry is free.
