Say what you want about national socialism but at least its an ethos.
What variety of carrot is that? And why does your lentil look like split peas?
I’d prefer a burger from Red Robin w bottomless fries gng
That is how you cut ciboullete??? Such ermitage…
They were vegetarians, werent they?
I'd rather eat like an Epicurian. 😅
No wonder the Manichaeans believed their farts were their spirits being unleashed from the corporeal prison.
Funnily enough, the Epicureans held that a man couldn’t truly enjoy a banquet who could not be content with a little plain food and water, as an analogy for how those who can be content and find pleasure in simple things that satisfy needs and relieve pain or fear doesn’t fear being without luxuries like a fancy house, fine foods, or the like, freeing them to truly enjoy those things when they have them and treasure the memory in their absence while still being happy with what they have while they have what they need. The Stoics considered prioritising being happy and enjoying life with virtue regarded as the only really viable way to achieve this in practice as backwards, holding instead that the priority is virtue and a virtuous person would be happy as a consequence of their virtue. I lean towards the Epicurean model, personally, as they (to the best of my knowledge) regarded the question of how to know that you are being virtuous or erring in that pursuit as being quite important, and answered it by noting that virtue is what a wise person does to pursue a life of happiness, free from stress and pain and fear to the best of their ability, so if you are consistently unhappy because of something you think is “virtuous”, that’s a good sign you are wrong and should reevaluate the matter.
I have lentils like this in my freezer constantly. Paired with rice, it’s a staple of my diet.
damn that's a healthy looking stew. the stoics must have been very regular haha.
You know its a greek classic because they use the wrong type of lentil (red lentils are for soups) and would be very arrogant about it if confronted
Needs meat. Why no meat? Meat good 😅
Yeah I think I’d rather eat like a hedonist
Hedonism gang >>>>>>>>>>>>>>>>>>>>>>>
thank you for your work son.
keep posting great content.
You’re supposed to let this simmer for hours until the lentils thicken the soup
Too bad those finance bros are taking the wrong shit away from it. Barf.
What’s the scale? Boiled lentils and salt water should not be an above average meal
What's the cookbook please
6.3 and 4 /10 are basically the exact same
Bland
Looks a lot like pea soup we ate in army every thursday 😋
To be a star, u must burn
Eat this and I be celibate
Basically I ate like a stoic most my life I guess 🙂 And my wife even more so, she eats just straight up boiled lentils with nothing added. And it's not even a "diet" thing, she just genuinely likes it.
As a Greek we eat this but you fry the onions first and carrot and add a splash of red wine vinegar and oil at the end, a touch of tomato cooked down after frying with water not broth
Lentil stew with vegetables; a classic & timeless recipie
I didn’t know stoics were from India but tbh I’ve learned recently that a lot of bs is, so it’s not that surprising
Anyway imma eat meat unabashedly because I’m European and it’s not the 1300’s, 1600’s, 1800’s, 1910’s etc
Add bone broth cook meat first add oil too your broth rib eye bacon 🎉🎉🎉🎉🎉❤
The celery surprised me. I know it was grown then but celery is complex to grow and was sort of a rich mans vegetable back then. Seems the opposite of stoicism
Lentils are so good.. or at least just make me feel good. The taste is okay but decently cheap and so sustaining. And less farty than beans
