PHOTOS: 33rd Sudbury Greek Festival returns with food, music and dancing

Organized entirely by volunteers, this weekend’s annual Sudbury Greek Festival raised funds to support St. Nicholas Greek Orthodox Church operations and local charitable programs

Thousands turned out over the July 24 to 26 weekend as the annual Sudbury Greek Festival made its return to the grounds of St. Nicholas Greek Orthodox Church on Ester Road.

Marking its 33rd year, the three-day, admission-free gathering attracted nearly 5,000 visitors across the weekend to celebrate Hellenic culture through traditional dishes, live music, and folk dancing.

Food remains the main attraction each year, and the 2026 menu brought back crowd-favorite staples including pork and chicken souvlaki, pan-fried saganaki cheese, spanakopita, moussaka, and fresh lamb skewers.

Desserts were equally prominent, with festival-goers lining up for honey-drenched baklava and loukoumades—the light, fried Greek doughnuts that have become one of the festival’s signature attractions.

To pair with the menu, organizers brought back Yiamas, a limited-edition collaboration brew crafted with local Stack Brewing, alongside imported Greek lagers like Mythos and Fix Hellas.

Beyond the food tents, the 2026 lineup featured continuous stage performances running from Friday afternoon through Sunday evening. Local youth groups—including the Junior and Intermediate Hellenic Dancers—performed alongside Toronto’s Levendia-X Hellenic Folklore Association, with live musical sets provided by Seizmos.
