The Greek Official Gazette Sept. 16 published Law No. 5135, on a digital transaction fee and stamp duty provisions. The law includes measures: 1) repealing the stamp duty provisions, effective Jan. 1, 2025; 2) imposing new digital transaction fees of up to 3.6 percent on specified transactions; 3) specifying that transactions concluded on or before Nov. 30, 2024, will still be subject to stamp duty; 4) describing the procedure for paying digital transaction fees; 5) providing the calculation method for digital transaction fees on deposits and withdrawals; and 6) specifying certain transactions subject to exemptions.
