As Greece and India prepare to celebrate their 75th anniversary of diplomatic relations in 2025, both nations are poised to strengthen their strategic partnership across various sectors.
Greek Minister of Development Takis Theodorikakos, speaking at the opening of the Horasis India Meeting in Athens, emphasised the importance of enhancing bilateral cooperation.
“We are strengthening our ties in key areas, including security, defence, trade, science, technology, and education,” he said, highlighting the shared democratic values and unique positioning of both countries to address global challenges.
Mr Theodorikakos also underlined Greece’s role in the India-Middle East-Europe Economic Corridor (IMEC), a strategic initiative aimed at bolstering connectivity and economic cooperation.
Greece’s strategic location, robust shipping industry, and expertise in high technology and artificial intelligence make it an ideal partner for the South Asian country in this endeavour.
The upcoming anniversary marks a historical milestone and signals a renewed commitment to strategic collaboration between Athens and New Delhi, particularly in light of their shared global values and the growing challenges facing the world today.
