5 things to do this weekend in Memphis


MEMPHIS, Tenn. (WMC) – Action News 5′s First Alert Weather team says it will be a warm end to the Summer season as Fall begins Sunday morning. What better way to soak it in by checking out some of the events happening this weekend.

MJ the Musical

Now, Michael Jackson’s unique and unparalleled artistry comes to Memphis in MJ, the multiple Tony Award-winning musical centered around the making of the 1992 Dangerous World Tour. Performances start Thursday through Sunday. Click here for tickets.

Memphis Greek Festival

It‘s the 65th annual Greek festival at Annunciation Greek Orthodox Church. Organizers say you can be Greek for a day and enjoy a lot of Greek food, dancing music and culture. The festival is Friday and Saturday. You can purchase tickets here.

Memphis Bacon & Bourbon Festival

The Memphis Bacon & Bourbon Festival hosted by the Memphis Flyer is Friday night from 6 to 9 p.m. There will be music and party activities, plus a whole lot of bacon and bourbon! You can purchase tickets here.

Memphis Pizza Fest

If you’re a pizza connoisseur, this event is for you! Check out the Memphis Pizza Festival on Saturday at the Agricenter International. It’s a full day of delicious pizza, fun activities, and entertainment, with proceeds supporting the Mid-South Food Bank and Everbloom Farmacy. Admission includes unlimited samples of pizza. Latin Fest

Come and celebrate Hispanic Heritage Month at Latin Fest 901 on Saturday from 12 to 6 p.m. Event goers will get to listen and dance to live Latin music, taste some Latin food and drinks, crafts for kids and vendors, and fun for everyone, plus it’s FREE! More information about the event here.
