Missing Greek Retiree Found And Reunited With Family In Constantinople

Dimitris Papadimitriou, a 78-year-old Greek retiree missing since September 5, has been located in Constantinople and safely reunited with his family. The elderly man had vanished after getting lost in the city, leading to several days of uncertainty.

The reunion was announced by Greek Consul General in Istanbul, Ambassador Konstantinos Koutras, who described it as “a day of great joy.” Greek consulate officials collaborated closely with Turkish police, examining security camera footage to track Mr. Papadimitriou’s whereabouts.

The turning point occurred when a taxi driver identified him and brought him to a nearby café, where staff promptly contacted the Greek consulate. Mr. Papadimitriou was then joyfully reunited with his anxious family, including his son and granddaughter.

Ambassador Koutras expressed his gratitude to everyone involved and acknowledged the concern demonstrated by the family and many people from Greece who had been eagerly awaiting news.
