Significant Growth In Passenger Traffic And Mobile Unit Movement At Greek Ports In Q1 2024


In the first quarter of 2024, Greek ports saw an 11.4% increase in total passenger traffic compared to the same period in 2023, according to the Hellenic Statistical Authority (ELSTAT) on Thursday. In the previous year, the first quarter of 2023 had experienced a 16.7% rise in passenger traffic compared to the first quarter of 2022.

Meanwhile, the total movement of goods in Greek ports declined by 0.1% in the first quarter of 2024 compared to the first quarter of 2023. In contrast, there was a 9.6% increase in goods movement from the first quarter of 2022 to the first quarter of 2023.

Lastly, the total traffic of mobile units in Greek ports increased by 7.6% in the first quarter of 2024 compared to the same period in 2023. In the preceding year, a 10.5% increase was noted from the first quarter of 2022 to the first quarter of 2023.
