Tornos News | Mayor: Today is a historic day for Panathinaikos and for Athens


Athens mayor Haris Doukas described today as a historic day, both for Panathinaikos and for Athens, as he announced that the building permit for the construction of the new stadium of the Athenian team in Votanikos was issued, which is the most important step for the progress of the double redevelopment project, ANA reports.
“It is a historic day for Panathinaikos and Athens with the issuance of the building permit for the construction of the new stadium, a well-coordinated effort is sealed, which ran at an unprecedented pace in the last eight months”, stressed the mayor of Athens and added: “Thank you very much to all the services and the co-responsible bodies that contributed their utmost, so that we could achieve immediate results in a very short period of time. It was a commitment that we undertook and implemented unwaveringly towards the fans of Panathinaikos, but also the residents of the wider area, who see Votanikos being upgraded”.
According to the municipality of Athens, the working group set up to coordinate the project, under the guidance of the mayor of Athens and with the participation of the competent vice-mayor of Infrastructure, the general secretary of the municipality, as well as all the involved bodies, proceeded in a series of from actions that resulted in today’s decision.
