Orchestra members performing Zorba’s Dance (Sirtaki) live with accordion and violins.
Sirtaki or syrtaki (Greek: συρτάκι) is a well-known dance of Greek origin, choreographed by Giorgos Provias for the 1964 film Zorba the Greek. While not a traditional Greek folk dance, it combines both the slow and fast versions of the hasapiko dance. The dance, along with the iconic music by Míkis Theodorakis, is also referred to as Zorbá’s dance, Zorbas, or ‘the dance of Zorba’. Zorba’s Dance has been performed around the world by artists like André Rieu.
