Bro we brought the bronze home this year 😂
I am a greek and I am 14. I can see many children that have a lot of talent and want to be basketball players… From my point of view you can actually expect some youth stars coming
Back in the days, each team would have maximum 3 foreigners playing per team. Im proposing that this rule gets re-implemented in the Greek leage. They way it is now is a joke
Even though we have Euroleage stars we don't the best national team
Greek teams ate afraid to invest in young greek players because they always aspire for those wuropean trophies . They lavk the commitment to invest on young greek talents
Olympiacos dont depend on high budget Olympiacos Also gives 20m to Vezenkov
because idiot club owners (of mostly the big teams) compete between them who will humiliate the other with expensive foreign players/coaches and do not use greek talented players to help them improve (as in water-polo for example)! in the good times, 80s/90s only 2 foreign and 1-2 other europeans were allowed in a team. that simple!
This video did not age very well…
Who is here after pao won the euroleague
👇
0:22 that aged badly
I'm an olympiakos fan but I was happy when Panathinaikos won 2024 euro league
update: panathinaikos finshed first in the euroleague, olympiakos third and the u20 team is already a few steps behind winning a medal, if not a gold. Forgot to mention that powerhouses like slovenia and croatia got defeated.
The problem is that Olympiakos and Panathinaikos ruined the Greek Basketleague in order to have their European successes.
That's the tl:Dr. Only their fans won't accept that fact.
5:22 bro that’s my school
panathinaikos destroyed greek basketball
But then this Year panathinaikos Won, as an underdog, and both them and olympiakos were in semifinals!
I came here after panathinaikara won the euroleague🎉🎉🎉🎉 and we succeeded in the Olympic tournament and we are in olympian games after 16 years 🎉
The crisis is one reason. the vast majority of the kids in Greece, only care for is how to build a good foundation to help them get off the country. No time to play sports and nonsense. That and other factors. One is nutrition which is getting worse and worse especially in the crowded big cities. We can officially be called the Philippines of Europe. There's of course one even more important reason that one is global not just Greeces
The past 28 years, two greek teams have won 10 European championship titles. That is better than 1/3 in an almost 30 year period. The national team didn't enjoy sucesss the past 15 years, true but so do many other national teams (Croatia, Italy, Germany). Plus one of the best players in the world right now is Greek. For a country with a population of 10 mil people that is pretty fecking good man
4 month update: Panathinaikos won the euroleague and Spanoulis leads the Greek NT to the olympics
It must be really painful for some people to admit, that the main problem are the clubs. Instead of investing into building academies, they invest in filling their roaster with foreign players who will help them win a championship NOW. Nothing wrong with being a non Greek player, but that doesn't really help Greek Basketball. It only helps the pockets of the club owners.
It's 9/7/2024 and we are back baby !!!!!
They qualified for olympics 👊
This aged well! 😂
