Welsh holidaymakers can now fly to ‘breathtaking’ Greek island from Bristol

From the end of March sun-seekers can jet off directly to the idyllic Greek island for a perfect blend of sunshine, sandy beaches, and crystal-clear seas. Bristol Airport has recently announced a slew of destinations making a comeback as we head into the warmer spring and summer seasons.

“Travel is really taking off this month as we start to add our summer destinations back onto the departures board,” said the airport in a statement. Among the returning holiday spots is Corfu, with EasyJet offering flights from Bristol Airport four times weekly starting March 30, 2025. The airline characterises Corfu as “a Greek island with Italian flair”, noting that “this fertile green island is more Italian than Greek, and a distinctly Venetian flair is felt in everything from the melodious accents to the breathtaking architecture.” They continue: “Corfu holidays offer fulfilling moments for everyone – the island’s beating heart is Corfu Town, which features tiny, cobblestoned alleyways and faded pink buildings, while culture and history are densely packed into the endless museums and monuments. Corfu Town especially comes alive during Easter, as hundreds of giant red pots are thrown off balconies and locals parade through the streets, singing and dancing.”

The island is known for its stunning landscapes, vibrant nightlife, and a food scene that’s not to be missed. A traveller on TripAdvisor shared: “With its lush hillsides and calm seas, Corfu is one of my favourite destinations. I always find myself returning to this island to discover a new beach. From wide stretches of wind-swept sand dunes to remote, pebble-covered coves, the hardest decision I have to make is where to lay my towel,” reports Somerset Live.

EasyJet provides a variety of suggestions for visitors, including Palaio Frouriou, a Venetian-built fortress which “offers the best views of Corfu Town”, and Mount Pantokrator, which “boasts the best hiking trails on the island and stellar views.” At present, EasyJet is offering a selection of package holidays starting from March, with prices starting at just over £400pp for two people.
