SIOUX CITY (KTIV) – Siouxland was celebrating everything Greek, Friday night during the official kick-off for one church’s annual event.
Greek Fest is now underway in Downtown Sioux City. The festival is held in the parking lot of Holy Trinity Greek Orthodox Church, located on 6th Street.
There, people can go enjoy authentic Greek food, live music, dancing and church tours. They can also check out the church’s bake sale and Mediterranean market.
Organizers shared what it means to them to have this event year after year.
“We have so many things to be thankful for, you know, and it’s it’s about our church and and what God has given us and that we’re able to give something back to the community in order to show our appreciation for what they’ve done for us here,” said John Vlahoulis, a long-time participant.
Greek Fest continues Saturday, June 28th, from 11 a.m. to 10 p.m. and Sunday, June 29th, from 11 a.m. until 3 p.m.
